The Minnesota House and Senate conference committee reached a compromise to reconcile differences in the marijuana legalization bills of the two chambers, including the tax rate. This week, the final floor votes are expected to be taken to send the bill to the governor.

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody’s (R) request to the Florida Supreme Court is to remove a marijuana legalization measure from the ballot in 2024, arguing it violates the Constitutional single-subject rule.

The North Carolina House Health Committee has approved a bill that will create a grant program of $5 million to support research on the therapeutic benefits of psychedelics such as psilocybin or MDMA. A Breakthrough Therapies Research Advisory Board will oversee this program.

Sen. Jacky Rosen, D-NV, is pushing for an expansion of a bipartisan marijuana bank bill by adding provisions that will allow the cannabis industry to access Small Business Administration programs and loans.

Salem’s City Council in Massachusetts unanimously approved a resolution to decriminalize the use of psilocybin.

The American Medical Association published a study that found medical marijuana to be associated with “significant improvement” in the quality of life among people suffering from chronic pain or insomnia, and that these effects were “largely sustained”.

In a special one-day session, Washington State legislators passed a law to prevent the state’s criminalization of drug possession laws from expiring on July 1. Governor. Jay Inslee, a Democrat, immediately signed the bill.

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, (R), discussed his support of legalizing marijuana by establishing a state-run system.

Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek, a Democrat, knew more than a month before the job was made public that the secretary of state had consulted with a marijuana company. Separately the governor instructed regulators to require state tax compliance in order to grant or renew cannabis retail licensing.

California Senator says he believes his bill to legalize the possession of psychedelics will pass this session.

Illinois regulators have conducted a survey to determine the diversity of the cannabis industry.

Utah regulators have posted an update regarding the medical marijuana program.

The Tennessee Medical Cannabis Commission meets on Friday.
