Albuquerque, N.M. KRQE – A dispensary in Albuquerque has lost its license because state regulators claim they sold cannabis from out of state and broke state laws. Paradise Distro in Menaul has lost its license because it was caught selling Californian-made products.
In a press statement, NMRLD Superintendent Linda Trujillo stated that the department was following the Cannabis Regulation Act in the interest of public security and taking actions against licensees who had violated the laws. This revocation is a warning for those who sell or receive cannabis products from out of state. Our compliance officers will be increasing inspections, and we’ll work to eliminate bad actors in the New Mexico cannabis sector.
NMRLD reports that the regulators inspected the Albuquerque shop and found “numerous” violations, including incorrect sales data and improper documentation of products, as well as more than $56,000 cash. NMRLD reports that the dispensary sold cannabis products from out of state, marked with California labels. This could be a violation.
The regulators claim that they held an hearing after the inspection results to try and connect with the licensee. NMRLD claims that Paradise Distro representatives never arrived. NMRLD says that they also handed information to law enforcement.
KRQE News 13 attempted to contact the dispensary. The number listed on the website was not working.
