The U.S. Supreme Court has heard oral arguments on a case centered around whether federal legalization hemp can help a Pennsylvanian man avoid a mandatory minimum 15-year sentence for gun ownership that was triggered because of his previous marijuana convictions.

Rep. Dean Phillips, a Democratic presidential candidate for 2024 and a D-MN resident, claims he did not “literally” intend to suggest that President Joe Biden begin smoking marijuana. He maintains, however, that it is “absolutely absurd”, that cannabis is still illegal while alcohol remains legal.
