On Wednesday, at least eight German Bundestag Committees will consider a bill legalizing marijuana ahead of the planned vote on Friday. The minister of health says that the government has “definitely” enough support to pass it.

Virginia House and Senate Leaders are working on a compromise to legalize recreational cannabis sales, after each chamber passed their own plan for launching the market.

Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee’s (D) budget proposal included a provision to allow marijuana businesses to partially work around the 280E penalty tax by decoupling federal and state policy, so that they can at least claim state deductions.

The Maryland Senate has passed a law to protect the state’s gun rights for medical cannabis patients.

The Arizona Senate Rules Committee has approved a bill that would legalize the use of psilocybin in medically-supervised centers, allowing people to receive this psychedelic under medical supervision. It now goes to a vote on the floor.

The Vermont Senate Health and Welfare Committee heard a bill that would legalize psilocybin and create a working group to further regulate psychedelics used for therapeutic purposes. Its chair said the committee could “act pretty quickly” on this.

As activists work to qualify initiatives for the November ballot, a new poll shows that 70% of Nebraska’s likely voters are in favor of legalizing medical marijuana.

The co-chairman of the Maryland Coalition on Drug Use, Treatment, and Recovery wrote an op/ed to urge lawmakers to support legislation that would create a state task force to investigate the decriminalization potential of drugs.

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum (R), during his State of the State address, suggested that Colorado’s ranking as the state with the highest GDP/capita is due to the legalization of marijuana.

The Oklahoma Senate has passed a bill creating a task force for hemp.

The Florida House Appropriations Committee has approved a bill that restricts hemp products.

Hawaii representatives voiced concerns over a bill that would increase the amount decriminalized marijuana to an ounce, and reduce the fine to only $25.

Colorado activists have filed a revised ballot measure that would allow cannabis users to carry concealed guns.

Since last month, Arkansas activists who support a ballot measure that would expand access to medical cannabis have received over $88,000 in contributions.

Vermont regulators have issued a warning to consumers about the pesticide contamination in marijuana products.

California regulators have posted guidelines on cannabis excise tax.

Missouri regulators have extended a variance on packaging and labeling for marijuana.

New Mexico’s top marijuana regulator speaks about efforts to ensure compliance, and combat illegal operators.
