Reps. Lisa Blunt Rochester, (D-DE), and Nancy Mace, (R-SC), have filed a bipartisan legislation to seal criminal records automatically for certain federal marijuana convictions.
Nora Volkow, director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), said that psychedelics are “potentially significant” in treating severe depression, PTSD or addiction. She also stated that federal agencies have a “great interest” in this area.

Federal
Asa Hutchinson is a Republican presidential candidate and former Arkansas Governor and Drug Enforcement Administration Administrator. He believes that “medical marijuana will be around for a while and it makes sense.” But he does not support any broader reform. “Our democracy won’t fall if we legalized marijuana,” he said.
Sens. Dan Sullivan (R-AK), Lisa Murkowski, and Dan Sullivan (R-AK), discussed their support of marijuana banking legislation.
Sen. Jeff Merkley, (D-OR), tweeted: “I rode in a car with a cannabis owner to deliver $70,000 of tax money in a bag because cannabis businesses do not have access to secure banking. To correct this injustice, I introduced the Safe Banking Act. “Let cannabis businesses bank!”
One new sponsor has been added to the eight who have already co-sponsored the House bill repealing 280E, which is a tax penalty for marijuana businesses.
STATES
Oregon’s Secretary of State reportedly allowed a marijuana-business owner who was paid to consult on cannabis issues to edit the language used in a state audit.
The Florida Senate has passed a bill that allows doctors to renew patient medical cannabis recommendations via telehealth. An amendment was also added to the bill to increase cultivation licenses available to Black farmers.
The Black and Puerto Rican Caucus of the Connecticut legislature listed a cannabis sentencing bill as one of its legislative priorities.
Minnesota Senator says pending marijuana legislation “is not ready for primetime.”
Pennsylvania representatives sent out a memo about upcoming legislation that will protect medical cannabis users from DUI charges.
