Ron DeSantis (currently Florida’s Governor) is the Republican presidential candidate who is opposed to legalizing marijuana. He argues, despite evidence to the contrary, that Colorado’s black market for cannabis is larger and more profitable than before legalization.

Howard Sklamberg, former chair of the Food and Drug Administration Marijuana Working Group, said that he believes the agency will recommend cannabis be moved from Schedule III to Schedule III due to political factors such as “the election season and the end of the administration’s tenure.”

U.S. Rep. Dave Joyce, R-OH, released a statement in which he explained why he would vote for a legalization initiative of marijuana on the Ohio ballot this November. The state has also published official arguments for and against the measure, which will be distributed among voters.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine signed a budget bill that allows medical cannabis dispensaries to have more time before opening, as well as the opportunity to remove disciplinary action from their records.

Virginia’s Lieutenant Governor expressed concern about marijuana laced with fentanyl.

Texas’s Agriculture Commissioner discussed his support of medical cannabis. He predicted that a comprehensive program for patient access would be passed with bipartisan support, if it were put up for a vote on the floor.

Minnesota’s Senate Majority Leader said that she expects lawmakers to make changes over time to the state’s legalization of marijuana law.

The South Dakota Medical Marijuana Oversight Committee chair discussed the state’s program for medical marijuana.

A New York Assemblymember has filed a bill that would require anyone under 21 caught with marijuana, along with their parents, to attend a program of diversion.

The Oregon Court of Appeals has granted a request to suspend the rules regarding testing for aspergillus in cannabis.

Vermont regulators will discuss cannabis business flood relief, among other issues, on Wednesday.

According to a review, “cannabis could be a promising therapy for reducing [delayed onset muscle soreness] as well as allowing faster recovery from associated mechanisms of pain reduction and inflammation.”

According to a review, “two randomized-controlled trials using LSD in combination with psychotherapy were performed in patients suffering from [anxiety disorder] who had life-threatening conditions and those without. The results showed a good safety profile as well as persistent decreases in anxiety outcome.”
