The House Rules Committee will decide whether or not amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act that address medical cannabis access to veterans, psychedelics, military marijuana testing and denials of security clearances due to cannabis, as well as other drug policy reforms, can be approved by the House floor.
Rep. Rep.
Sherrod Brown, the chairman of the Senate Banking Committee (D-OH), said he would “like” to vote on a cannabis banking bill in this month. However, he said that “it depends” if other priorities are advanced. The office of Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT), however, said that he is “open” to adding expungements to SAFE Banking Act.
The North Carolina Senate has voted to nominate a member of the Medical Cannabis Regulatory Board that will be created as a result of a House legalization bill which is currently stalled. The House Speaker says that the Senate’s “heavy handed” tactics would have the “opposite impact.”
The Missouri Department of Health and Human Services will be holding events to inform the public about its upcoming marijuana microbusiness lottery.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Democratic presidential candidate, tweeted: “Addiction affects so many American families. Drug Enforcement Administration Administrator Anne Milgram spoke about efforts to crackdown on fentanyl.
Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-OH, said that we “cannot arrest our way out” of the drug problem.
Sen. J.D. Vance (R – OH) said that drug decriminalization increased drug overdoses and addiction rates. He also stated that he supported allowing the U.S. president to use military forces to take on drug cartels.

New Mexico Gov. Existing marijuana businesses are asking Michelle Lujan Grisham to temporarily halt new licenses.
Maryland’s Attorney General issued a press release celebrating the legalization of marijuana.
Wisconsin’s Senate minority leader tweeted: “Last Week, @SenateDemsWI introduced an amendment to budget to #LegalizeMarijuana. The State Senate’s Republican members voted against this amendment, as did the 69% of Wisconsinites that support full legalization.
Massachusetts and Rhode Island legislators attended a conference on Portugal’s decriminalization of drugs law.
A Colorado judge issued an interim restraining against the fees levied by the provider of the marijuana tracking and tracing system in the state.
A judge in Alabama postponed the hearing scheduled for July 13 on two lawsuits that challenged regulators’ licensing of medical cannabis businesses.
Oklahoma regulators have announced the recall of marijuana products which were not tested properly.
Virginia’s law prohibiting the sale and possession of cannabinoids that are intoxicating has come into effect.

The study shows that cannabinoids and/or cannabis extracts have the potential to reduce inflammation.
One study found that “psilocybin can decelerate cellular senescence.” These studies, given that inflammation and senescence contribute to age-related diseases and/or age-related disorders, could provide the basis for using psilocybin in a therapeutic way for many age related disease indications.
