The Department of Justice Office of the Inspect General took over a year before responding to a complaint regarding defects in Federal Bureau of Investigation marijuana-arrest data. Ultimately, the FBI was tasked with investigating the issue.

Documents obtained by Marijuana Moment via a public records requests show that the California Attorney General’s Office has received input from local government groups who argue that allowing interstate sales of cannabis would not expose California to federal enforcement.

The Maryland Office of the Comptroller’s Revenue Administration Division director said that state officials worked with Wells Fargo in order to conceal marijuana revenue deposits by “craftily” describing them as “a sales subject to the 9 percent rate under Senate Bill 516) amid the ongoing federal prohibition.

A group of bipartisan senators has acknowledged that legalizing pot disrupts the market for illegal cartels. The lawmakers’ comments, none of whom have publicly supported legalization, were made in a letter addressed to Secretary of state Antony Blinken.

One new sponsor has been added to the House bill encouraging Veterans Affairs to investigate medical cannabis. The total is now seven.

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D), tweeted: “The revenue that we would generate by legalizing marijuana could invest back into our communities.” Currently, this money is going to other states. “It’s time for us to join our neighbors and legalize and tax marijuana just like we do with alcohol.”

This week, the Interim Courts, Corrections and Justice Committee of the New Mexico legislature will examine various marijuana-related issues, including briefings about market conditions, laws enforcement and expungement past convictions.

Nevada regulators approved additional marijuana consumption lounge licenses. Separately, on Thursday they will hold a workshop to discuss proposed changes to cannabis regulations.

New York regulators have filed a list with 30 conditional licensees of marijuana dispensaries that are eligible to open if a preliminary order is issued by a court in response to a lawsuit against their licensing process.

Minnesota has generated at least $594,00 in revenue during the first month following the introduction of a new tax imposed on hemp-derived THC.
