The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives warns Minnesota marijuana users that federal law still prohibits them from owning or purchasing guns, regardless of whether the state has legalized cannabis.

Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron (R)–the GOP gubernatorial nominee–participated in an announcement about the allocation of $42 million of the state’s opioid settlement funds to support research on using the psychedelic ibogaine to treat addiction.

The Louisiana Senate Judiciary C Committee has approved a bill passed by the House to streamline expungements of first-time marijuana possession convictions.

Reps. Matt Rosendale, R-MT and Chrissy Hulahan, D-PA have filed a bipartisan bill that will ease the testing and sampling requirements for industrial hemp growers who are not growing it to extract cannabinoids.

Arizona Court of Appeals ruled marijuana possession records can be expunged, as well as convictions for sales.

The St. Louis City NAACP has demanded an “immediate” correction of Missouri regulators list of ZIP Codes where people can qualify for marijuana microbusiness licences, because none are in North St. Louis, where approximately half the state’s Black residents live.

Food and Drug Administration officials have said that one possible regulatory pathway for CBD could include potency limitations on CBD and cannabinoids.

Sen. Brian Schatz, D-HI, discussed his support of psychedelics.

A total of 30 people have now co-sponsored the House marijuana banking legislation.

STATES

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), tweeted: “Today, I signed a law legalizing adult use cannabis and expunging convictions for nonviolent cannabis offenses in Minnesota. It’s the right thing to do for Minnesota.” Walz also tweeted that “criminalizing cannabis hasn’t worked.” We’re expanding Minnesota’s economy, creating new jobs and regulating the cannabis industry for Minnesotans safety by legalizing adult-use marijuana. “I’m proud to sign this bill into law.”

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D), tweeted: “There’s absolutely no reason Wisconsin should not be the next state to legalize and tax marijuana, just as we do already with alcohol.”

South Dakota’s Executive Board of the legislature made changes to the Medical Marijuana Oversight Committee.

New York regulators have asked a judge dismiss a lawsuit filed by medical cannabis companies who are unhappy with the state’s decision to allow recreational marijuana sales. They claim that these companies do not have standing.

Alaska regulators will discuss marijuana business issues during meetings on Thursday and Saturday.

According to a study, medical cannabis may be beneficial in treating chronic pain patients by improving their quality of life and mood, as well as reducing pain intensity and pain interference.

The review concluded “that there is no credible evidence that co-use of marijuana increases the risk of crash when combined with alcohol.”

The Democratic Governors Association posted on Twitter, “Thanks for Gov. Minnesota is now the 23rd legal state to allow recreational marijuana use thanks to Gov.

The Republican Party of Minnesota executive director criticised Gov. Tim Walz’s (D) invitation to former Gov. Jesse Ventura was invited to sign a marijuana legalization law, but he refused because he called him an “extremist,” who “touted danger conspiracy theories.”
