John Fetterman, a senator from Pennsylvania (D), has tacitly approved Wiz Khalifa’s plan to “stone af” before throwing out the ceremonial first ball at a Pittsburgh Pirates match this week. The artist’s plans reportedly involved cannabis as well as psilocybin mushroom.
Khalifa said he would get high on Monday before the game. Fetterman then quoted that tweet, with a picture of him holding his flag which says “It’s 4/20 Somewhere”. The senator is known for using flags to promote policy positions on marijuana as well as other issues.

On the same day, the rapper shared another picture showing what appeared to be two jars containing cannabis and a psilocybin-edible packaged with a mushroom symbol. Although it may look like a regulated substance, psilocybin is not sold by licensed businesses for recreational purposes.

Fetterman was a native Pennsylvanian and Pirates fan. He may not have been aware that Khalifa had plans to take the psychedelic as well as cannabis. He is a vocal advocate of reforming the policies on both substances.
He said, for example, that the psilocybin mushroom could be a “revolution in mental health treatment” and an “economic “boon” to his home state, Pennsylvania, which he called the “mushroom capitol of the world.”
The psychedelic music didn’t seem to affect the artist’s performance at the game. However, he seemed to be starry-eyed while waving to the audience.

SB Nation has pointed out that there are many examples of celebrities, who were ostensibly not under the influence of Psilocybin but who have fared worse with their first pitches.
The rapper was also able to enjoy some food at the stadium.

Khalifa isn’t either the first to use psychedelics in the diamond. He’s not the first to use psychedelics at a Pirates match.
In 1970, Pirates pitcher Dock Ellis threw an infamous no-hitter while high on LSD against the San Diego Padres.
Khalifa, for his part has found ways to work with top politicians on drug policy.
, for instance, helped celebrate the inauguration Pennsylvania Governor in January. Josh Shapiro, where he declared that he is “about peace and love.” If you are 21 or older, go ahead and smoke some marijuana!
The rapper said this after he performed one of his most popular songs, “Young, Wild & Free.” A famous line from the song, where the artist sings, “So what, we smoke weed,” was curiously omitted.
Pennsylvania does not allow adult-use marijuana or psilocybin.
