According to a new Gallup survey, 7/10 Americans support the legalization of marijuana. This includes majorities among Republicans, Democrats and all age groups.


  • The nation has come to a consensus about legalizing marijuana.

Ohio’s top GOP legislators, including the Senate President and House Speaker, are working with prohibitionist groups to reverse or substantially revise the marijuana ballot initiative approved by Ohio voters on Tuesday.

Vivek Ramaswamy, Republican presidential candidate in Ohio, revealed that he had voted against marijuana legalization on the ballot. He said that it was an “abandonment” of the rule-of-law given federal prohibition.

The Florida Supreme Court heard arguments about whether marijuana legalization can be placed on the ballot in 2024. Several justices asked tough questions regarding state Attorney General Asheley Moore’s (R), effort to prevent voters from voting on cannabis.

The Canadian Senate Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs released a report that called for “a large-scale research program” in order to investigate the potential of psychedelics such as psilocybin or MDMA to treat mental conditions experienced by veterans.

Maryland Cannabis Administration reports that recreational marijuana sales were record high in October, but medical cannabis purchases are at their lowest level since January.

The National Labor Relations Board has approved an agreement between Shangri-La and United Food and Commercial Workers to settle unfair labor practices charges.

Hemp growers and manufacturers are suing the Alaska Department of Natural Resources, along with other officials of Alaska. They claim that new restrictions on cannabinoid-containing products which are intoxicating are not constitutional.

Federal

Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer (D) said on Twitter: “It’s long past time for cannabis reform and I won’t stop working as Senate Majority leader to achieve it!”

Former Senator Rick Santorum, R-PA, said that “a lot” of young people vote when “sexy issues” like abortion and marijuana are on the ballot.

Rep. Dean Phillips, a presidential hopeful from Minnesota (D), tweeted: “Want proof of the disconnect between DC political industrial complex and X? And the exhausted majority of Americans?” Only 25% of Ohioans who voted for legalizing abortion and cannabis in an exit poll said Joe Biden should be re-elected.

Earl Blumenauer, a representative from Oregon (D), sent a release to celebrate the legalization of marijuana in Ohio.

Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA), tweeted: “National support for legalizing cannabis continues to grow.” I will continue to fight against discriminatory federal practices which keep qualified applicants out of federal jobs. “It’s time to end this war on drugs.”

Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee, a Democrat from Rhode Island, tweeted about the new social media presence of state cannabis regulators.

Former New York Governor David Paterson (D), in an op ed, called on Connecticut officials for policies that allow partnerships between marijuana social equality applicants and hemp farmers.

The Indiana House Minority Leader said that the state should follow Ohio and legalize marijuana.

Wisconsin’s Senate Minority Leader tweeted: “Congratulations Ohio on codifying reproductive rights and legalizing marijuana.”

“The fact Ohio legalized pot before Pennsylvania is a crime,” tweeted a Pennsylvania representative. Legalize it. Regulate it. Tax it.”

Michigan regulators have announced a voluntary withdrawal of beverages containing marijuana.

Oklahoma regulators have taken action against 165 medical marijuana cultivation facilities for allegedly failing to display required signage.

California and Massachusetts regulators posted social media messages congratulating Ohio for legalizing marijuana.

In Birmingham, Grosse Pointe Park Keego Harbor, and Rochester in Michigan, voters rejected ballot measures that would have allowed marijuana retailers.

Marshfield and Seymour voters in Missouri approved local marijuana tax measures.

The Board of Supervisors of Humboldt County in California is examining changes to the cannabis rules.

Three marijuana stores in Menominee Michigan were ordered to close by a judge.

The study found that CBD is a safe and effective analgesic to dental pain.

According to a study, “a quarter (25%) of non-palliative neuropathic patients experienced clinically significant pain reduction and improved quality of life due to medical cannabis.”

The American Civil Liberties Union of South Dakota has filed a federal suit on behalf of a person who was refused a vanity plate that read “REZWEED.” This is a reference his business which “supports and encourages” the legal cannabis sales in Indian reservations.

California Cannabis Industry Association calls on Congress to pass legislation that regulates intoxicating hemp products.

Green Thumb Industries Inc. has reported a quarterly net revenue of $275.4 millions.

Verano Holdings Corp. posted quarterly net revenue at $240.1 and a loss of $17.8 millions.

WM Technology, Inc. reported a quarterly net revenue $47.7 millions and a net loss $2.5 million.

Trulieve Cannabis Corp. has issued a redemption notice for its outstanding senior secured debt due in 2024 totaling $130 million.

Glass House Brands Inc. now has a member on its board of directors.
