( KTLA ) Gigi Hadid’s trip to the Cayman islands started off badly.
Customs officers found marijuana in her luggage at Owen Roberts International Airport, on 10 July.
According to Cayman Marl Road Hadid and Leah Nicole McCarthy were both charged when officials found “ganja utensils for consumption of ganja” inside their luggage after they arrived by private plane.
Both women were taken to the Prisoner Detention Center and processed. They were then released on bail, “pending the decision of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.”
Both women were arrested and charged on July 12. The outlet reported that both women pleaded guilty to the charges and were fined $1000 each.
Hadid’s representative told E! News reported that Hadid “was travelling with marijuana legally purchased in NYC under a medical license.” Grand Cayman has legalized marijuana for medical purposes since 2017.
Her rep stated that “her record is clear and she has enjoyed her remaining time on the Island.”
Hadid seemed to have moved past the incident. Hadid posted photos of herself in bikini on her Instagram just days after the court date. The photos showed her new leg tattoo, a dragon.
According to page six the tattoo is most likely temporary.
She then uploaded a playful picture of herselfin water with the caption: “What designer made this noodle?” Only wrong answers.”
