Maryland Cannabis Administration has published draft emergency marijuana regulations in preparation for legalization July 1.
New York Office of Cannabis Management launches a pilot program that will allow marijuana farmers’ markets. The first events are expected to occur “optimistically within a week.”
The new Drug Enforcement Administration report indicates that in 2022, the agency will have destroyed more illegal marijuana plants than it did the year before. However, the number of cannabis-related arrests has plummeted.
The Liaison Group, a marijuana lobbying group, has apologized for making “inappropriate references” to Chinese-backed investors in a letter sent to senators regarding cannabis banking amendments. This comes after a backlash from activists who deemed it racially offensive.
California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development has awarded community reinvestment grant funds of more than 50 million dollars, funded by marijuana taxes. This will help to repair the damage caused by the drug war.
Rhode Island activists and representatives are urging the Senate to pressure Gov. Dan McKee (D)’s nominees to Cannabis Control Commission are being pressed by Rhode Island representatives and activists about issues of equity and justice during the confirmation process.

Food and Drug Administration officials spoke about the agency’s willingness and ability to work with Congress in developing new regulatory pathways on CBD.

Vermont Gov. Phil Scott (R), the Vermont governor, signed into law an omnibus bill on overdose prevention.
Wisconsin’s Senate Minority Leader tweeted: “Wisconsin has long been due to legalize marijuana.” How long will we be behind neighboring states who are taking millions from our revenue?
Illinois lawmakers sent Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s (D) budget includes several marijuana-reform measures. However, a broader cannabis omnibus bill was not enacted before the end of session.
Oklahoma lawmakers sent Gov. Kevin Stitt, (R), introduced several bills to amend medical cannabis laws.
California Assembly has passed a bill that restricts cannabis products and marketing to children. Separately the Legislative Analyst’s Office projects cannabis tax revenue of $509 million in 2022-2023 and $611 in 2023-2024.
The Indiana Court of Appeals ruled the odor of marijuana provides reasonable suspicion to conduct a search by police.
The New Jersey Division of Taxation has published a summary of the new law that allows marijuana businesses to deduct their expenses as part of a partial workaround for 280E.
South Dakota regulators now have issued more than 10,000 cards for medical cannabis patients.
North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement officials confiscated what they called “illegal THC” products from several tobacco shops.

A judge heard the lawsuit filed by Bell County, Texas against Killeen’s local marijuana decriminalization laws.

The Move Forward Party of Thailand said that marijuana businesses currently registered would be protected, if the party is able implement a policy to relist cannabis as a control drug.

The study concluded that neither former nor current marijuana use of any lifetime amount were associated with the progression or development of chronic obstructive lung disease.
In a study, primary care doctors “practicing in [marijuana-legalized] states were more receptive towards patients using CBD supplements. PCPs in states without ML were more worried about CBD’s side effects.”
