Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D), Maryland’s governor, signed legislation to regulate the sale of marijuana in anticipation of the state’s voter-approved legalization laws taking effect on July 1,

The U.S. Department of Transportation has finalized changes to drug testing regulations that allow for saliva screening as an alternative urine screening. The change could lead to fewer positive drug tests for transit workers that have used marijuana in the days before and are not high at work.

Ohio activists have begun collecting the second half the signatures needed to put a marijuana legalization measure on the ballot in November after lawmakers failed to act by the deadline.

Colorado lawmakers sent Gov. Jared Polis’ (D) bill to regulate psychedelics in accordance with a ballot initiative for legalization approved by voters.

The document “Key Deal Points” of the new Collective Bargaining Agreement for the National Basketball Association clarifies that players are not allowed to promote marijuana businesses, but they can passively own them. Sen. Bob Menendez, (D-NJ), tweeted: “Under the current federal law, many small businesses are unable to protect their employees and customers, or even their own property.” I reintroduced CLAIM to ensure that legal marijuana and related businesses can access insurance coverage.

Sen. Ron Wyden, (D-OR), sent out a press statement about the Senate Republicans’ decision to block a bill on cannabis research for veterans.

A new sponsor has been added to the House bill that allows CBD as a nutritional supplement. The total is now 21.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D), the New York Governor, signed a budget bill to increase civil penalties and taxes on marijuana sellers who are not licensed.

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt signed a law giving law enforcement the authority to combat illegal marijuana production. The Attorney General praised this move.

Tennessee lawmakers sent Gov. Bill Lee (R), a Republican, introduced a bill that would regulate the sale of cannabinoid-derived hemp products.

The Alabama House of Representatives has passed a law criminalizing the sale of delta-8 THC to those under 21.

Wisconsin’s Senate Minority Leader wrote an opinion piece on the necessity of legalizing marijuana.

Rhode Island legislators are frustrated with Gov. Dan McKee (D) has delayed appointing the members of the Cannabis Control Commission. He has filed legislation that would allow an existing agency in the interim to oversee marijuana advertising regulations.

Delaware State Police spoke with a representative about their approach to enforcement of DUI laws in the wake of marijuana legalization. Separately state legislators sent a letter to the state’s congress delegation urging them to support federal reform of marijuana laws.

One study found that psilocybin was more effective than other therapies in treating depression, depressive mood, anhedonia and core depression factors, as well as specific symptoms like sexual dysfunction.
