Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D), signed a bill to legalize medical cannabis. It is now the 38th state in the United States with a comprehensive program for medical cannabis.

According to reports, Germany’s Health Minister is working on a scaled back proposal for marijuana in response to European Union concerns. It would not legalize sales across the country, but legal possession and homegrow. There would also be noncommercial cannabis clubs and a pilot program for commercial sales in selected regions.

According to reports, the National Basketball Association will lift its ban on marijuana in a new collective bargaining arrangement with the players union.

A bill to decriminalize the use of psilocybin was approved by Connecticut’s Joint Committee on Judiciary.

The Illinois Senate approved a bill that would prohibit police from using marijuana smell as probable cause for vehicle searches.

Maryland’s Senate approved a bill that regulates marijuana sales. As the state prepares to launch legalization in accordance with a referendum approved by voters last year, bicameral legislators will work together to resolve differences.

Montana Senate Business, Labor and Economic Affairs Committee voted down a bill that would have banned recreational marijuana dispensaries and restricted medical cannabis potency, while increasing taxes for patients.

/ FEDERAL

Sen. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), stated in a Senate floor speech, that she will continue to advocate for Federal loans for State-legal marijuana small businesses and that they are job creators in her state and in a growing number across the country.

Former staffer for Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D.NY) stated that he believes it is “a space that in near future is potentially ready for some kind of action.”

Rep. Rep. Jim McGovern (D–MA) tweeted about visiting Eskar Dispensary to talk with the owners and @MA_Cannabis about how they could support small businesses. I visited Eskar Dispensary in order to speak with @MA_Cannabis and the owners about how they can help companies such as theirs, while reforming policies which have harmed so much families.

Rep. Nancy Mace (Republican from South Carolina) stated that there is “no reason” to legalize marijuana federally.

Delaware Governor John Carney (D), said that one of his concerns regarding the pending marijuana legalization legislation on his desk was that there hasn’t been a “good sobriety” test.

Washington State Governor’s advisor Jay Inslee (D), stated that a bill to legalize the use of psilocybin would pose a threat to Washingtonians’ health and safety.

Virginia’s lieutenant governor stated that she has “never touched marijuana” despite being from Jamaica, where she said they have the “best” marijuana in the world.

A representative from Illinois spoke out about his bill for psilocybin.

Representative from Rhode Island cited the example of bipartisan cooperation in work on marijuana exonerations.

Vermont regulators submitted proposed changes to the cannabis rules.

Idaho Department of Health and Wellness has been sued for its policy of placing pregnant mothers who have tested positive for marijuana on Child Protection Central Registry.

New Mexico’s cannabis regulators have formed a unit to address compliance issues.

Chicago, Illinois mayoral candidates stated that they support legalizing marijuana consumption outside their homes.

Colombia’s Interior Ministry tweeted: “Regulating #Cannabis for Adult Use is to Protect the Lives of the Peasantry In Colombia and Change the Way in Which We Have Addressed This Problem.” “Peasants are not drug dealers.”

Additional information was posted by the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration about their decision to allow MDMA prescriptions for some patients.
