SANTA FÉ, N.M.(KRQE), – The Cannabis Control Division of the state is again considering amending cannabis rules. The proposed changes could affect the fees that some businesses pay to obtain cannabis licenses.
The CCD would be able to charge a fee of $1000 per year as a flat rate for microbusinesses that are integrated with cannabis. CCD currently charges microbusinesses that have 100 plants or less a flat fee of $500 and microbusinesses that have 101 to 200 plants a flat rate of $1,000. The proposed rule change would allow the CCD charge $75 for license amendments, and $75 to add an additional non-controlling agent.
Changes proposed include also requiring that would-be cannabis manufacturers, retailers and producers provide a list with the employees they plan to hire, a proper tax registration and zoning approval from local authorities. The applicants would have to describe in detail any previous cannabis-related disciplinary action they experienced.
On November 13, 2023 at 9 a.m., there will be a Santa Fe public hearing to discuss the proposed changes. The Rio Grande Conference Room is located in the Toney-Anaya State Office Building, 2550 Cerrillos Road (Santa Fe, New Mexico). The proposed rule change can be found at this link.
