The unofficial 4/20 marijuana holiday is being celebrated by lawmakers and government agencies across the U.S., and in some cases they are openly celebrating it. Several posts have been made to highlight past reforms and to pledge to continue to work on the issue.
The cannabis community celebrates Thursday, but politicians are increasingly using it to push for reform. This year is no exception. Top congressional lawmakers will even speak about the issue in , a first of its kind event held inside the Capitol Building during the holiday.
The culture is being influenced by officials at all levels of government. The number of legislators and government agencies who use 4/20 as a platform to discuss marijuana policy is growing year over year. This highlights how the legalization campaign has transformed marijuana from being viewed as a taboo into a social norm.

The prohibition of marijuana costs taxpayers billions and results in the criminalization of millions, especially people of color. It’s time for marijuana to be decriminalized at the federal level.

All who celebrate 4/20, Happy 4/20!
We need to celebrate this occasion by legalizing marijuana and making the industry more accessible for those who were unjustly criminalized. This will ensure that Black and Brown communities are not incarcerated, while others make millions![]()
