The Congressional Research Service said it “could be likely” the Drug Enforcement Administration will accept a marijuana rescheduling recommendation–adding that such a move would have “broad implications” for taxes, housing, immigration, military service, employment and more.

The White House has promoted President Joe Biden’s mass marijuana pardons and scheduling review directive in a campaign called “Fight for Our Freedom”, which aims to “mobilize youth” ahead of the next election.

Several senators from both parties are weighing in about the prospect of a vote being held on a marijuana banking law. Sen. Steve Daines, R-MT, said he hopes that it will take place “sometime in Septembre” while Sen. Cory Booker, D-NJ says he would like to see “some equity issues” added.


  • Sen. Jack Reed (D – RI), who raised concerns about one section of SAFE Banking Act said that negotiators were “making progress” towards resolving this issue.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Democratic presidential candidate, spoke of his desire to legalize cannabis and open banking services to the industry. He also said that he would use cannabis tax revenues to fund drug rehabilitation and treatment centers.

The California Assembly has approved a bill passed by the Senate that prohibits employers from asking applicants about previous marijuana use.

Nebraska activists have launched a campaign in order to qualify two medical marijuana legalization initiatives on the ballot for 2024, despite Gov. Jim Pillen (R), says that marijuana is “proven to be harmful to our children”.

Washington State courts have reimbursed $9.4 Million to those who had their past drug possession convictions vacated by the state Supreme Court after it declared criminalization laws unconstitutional.

The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies stated that a new study found MDMA-assisted treatment “significantly improved PTSD and functional impairment”, which means the drug “is on track to be approved by the FDA in 2020.”

Federal prosecutors have charged President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden with illegally possessing a firearm as a drug addict and lying on the form he completed when acquiring the gun.

The Oklahoma Supreme Court has declined to hear a case that challenged increased licensing fees for medical cannabis businesses.

Alabama regulators have been sued by a medical marijuana business license applicant for defamation. The applicant claims that they falsely stated the company had people with “disqualifying” criminal histories.

New Mexico regulators have proposed new rules clarifying when state agencies may test their employees for drugs.

Massachusetts regulators sent out a statement accusing one reporter of “lack of journalism values” and “racist tropes.” The journalist responded that he stood by his reporting about top officials.

Vermont regulators have posted information on youth cannabis prevention education.

The Iowa Medical Cannabidiol Board meets on Friday.

Nevada regulators will examine marijuana business issues Tuesday.
