Even though a new Gallup analysis shows that Republicans support marijuana legalization at a record high, the partisan gap has grown between the two major parties on this issue in the last 20 years as Democrats are more likely to be supportive of cannabis reform.
The German health minister has said that he expects to see the federal cabinet approve the first phase of the government’s plan for marijuana legalization next week. He said officials would launch a “major campaign” to educate the public on “the dangers of cannabis consumption.”
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, a Democrat, has demanded that Republican legislators stop spreading “misinformation about the newly passed marijuana legalization legislation in Minnesota.
New York Office of Cannabis Management has announced that New York’s first marijuana farmer market will open this coming week. The market will be open on Thursdays, Saturdays and Fridays in New Paltz.
The Ohio voters’ rejection of a ballot initiative intended to make it more difficult to enshrine the abortion rights in the state constitution bodes very well for approval for a marijuana legalization measure that will be likely up for a November vote.

Ron DeSantis is a Republican presidential candidate and the governor of Florida. He said that he would use “deadly force” to fight drug cartels.
The U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit ruled on Monday that a man had violated his supervised parole by possessing marijuana despite the fact that it was legal in New York under state law.
Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, D-PA, tweeted: “This Congress I introduced the Industrial Hemp Act which allows farms to produce industrial hemp more easily without restrictive regulations. I visited a local hemp farm near Avondale and thoroughly enjoyed learning more about this growing business.”

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, a Republican, signed a law legalizing the use of fentanyl testing equipment and xylazine.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) Unified Cannabis Enforcement Taskforce announced that it had destroyed $68.5 million in illegal cannabis, and seized 12 firearms during its largest operation yet last month. The Governor’s Office tweeted: “This is part our work to combat organized criminal cannabis operations, and keep our environment free from toxic chemicals.”
Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura said in a tweet that he was at an event on the day of the state’s legalization of marijuana, and it was “such a historic moment for Minnesotans.” I was so happy to celebrate that evening with the amazing people who made this possible.
A New York Senator cheered on a group military veterans who have sued marijuana regulators for their licensing decisions. Separately an assemblymember sent out a newsletter about the bipartisan support of psychedelics.
Arizona regulators have announced the recall of marijuana due to possible contamination with salmonella.
Montana regulators have been sued for the residency requirements of the state in order to own or invest in marijuana businesses.
Arkansas officials have asked a federal court in Washington to dismiss a lawsuit that claims a new law that regulates hemp-derived products violates the constitution.
Oregon regulators is seeking candidates to serve on advisory committees for medical cannabis rules.
