Top Things to Know
Minnesota’s House of Representatives has passed a bill legalizing marijuana. The Senate’s companion legislation will be heard in its final committee on Wednesday, and it is expected that the bill will reach the floor of the chamber by the end the week.
The Colorado Senate has passed a bill that regulates psychedelics in accordance with a legalization law approved by voters. They also adopted a few amendments in the Senate, in addition to those already approved in committee.
Hawaii’s legislature has passed a resolution concurrently calling for Gov. Josh Green (D), to create a program of clemency for those with previous marijuana convictions.
The Nevada Assembly has passed a resolution calling on Congress to legalize marijuana at the federal level.
On Wednesday, the Texas House of Representatives is expected to vote on a decriminalization bill for marijuana possession. The House Licensing & Administrative Procedures Committee also plans to hold an hearing on broader legislation that would legalize and regulate the sale of cannabis.
New York Assembly committees have scheduled a hearing on the banking of marijuana.
Federal
The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation posted a tweet about the John R. Lewis Social Justice cannabis Fellows, who are sponsored by The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company.
Patrick Kennedy, former D-RI Rep. tweeted: “We can’t legalize marijuana while running rampant ads for sports gambling and hard alcohol as long as the overdose and addiction rates are unacceptably high.” We are adding fuel to the fire.

Former Michigan House Speaker pleads guilty to federal charges of bribery in relation to the state’s licensing process for marijuana businesses.
Wisconsin’s Senate Minority Leader tweeted: “As Minnesota continues its legalization of marijuana, we cannot even get a hearing on a Wisconsin bill.”
The Louisiana House Criminal Justice Committee has rejected a bill that would have legalized marijuana.
Missouri regulators have detailed plans for issuing cannabis microbusiness licences.
Vermont regulators have posted information on upcoming deadlines to apply for a marijuana cultivation license.
West Virginia regulators have posted a list with licensed hemp businesses.
Georgia regulators are expected to consider granting medical cannabis licenses Wednesday.
On Thursday, New York will host an event for cannabis careers.

In a poll of New Jersey adults, it was found that 53 percent supported the operation of marijuana dispensaries in their area, while 39 percent were opposed. 48 percent said they would like to see cannabis attractions such as consumption lounges and other experiences, while 54 percent opposed the prohibition on selling food at marijuana consumption lounges.
