The Florida Division of Elections has announced that Trulieve’s marijuana legalization initiative, which was funded by Trulieve, now has more than enough signatures valid to be placed on the ballot in 2024. However the state attorney general wants the Supreme Court not to allow voters to vote on this measure.
Colorado Gov. Jared Polis signed a law to protect working professionals from being denied licenses, certifications, or registrations because of their cannabis-related activities.
The California Senate has passed a bill that prohibits employers from asking applicants about their prior marijuana use. This builds on the worker protections related to cannabis signed into law by Governor. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, signed a bill into law last year that prohibited employers from asking job applicants about prior marijuana use.

Sen. Dan Sullivan, R-AK, spoke out about the failure of medical marijuana research for veterans he supports, saying that “anytime cannabis is brought up, it can be a wildcard.”
Rep. Brad Wenstrup, R-OH, said that “there may very well be good medical uses” for marijuana. He would like to see further research on the subject. However he is concerned about how medical cannabis was legalized so far in some states.
A new sponsor has been added to the Senate marijuana banking legislation, bringing its total to 40.
Four new co-sponsors have been added to the House marijuana banking legislation, bringing it up to 34.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D), the New York Governor, signed legislation allowing adult-use cultivators to continue processing and distributing marijuana in a minimal way. A federal judge approved a settlement between regulators and a company that had sued them for not being able to issue cannabis dispensary licences in certain parts of the state.
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy (D), tweeted: “New Jersey’s recreational-only cannabis retail stores are now open for businesses!” Earth & Ivy New Brunswick Nova Farms Woodbury This is a major milestone for the growing cannabis industry. Separately regulators revoked Harmony Foundation’s marijuana cultivation licenses and manufacturing licenses due to unpaid fees while approving licenses for others. A former attorney general was said to have represented Curaleaf’s successful attempt to convince regulators to reverse their decision to deny a license renewal for the company to sell recreational marijuana.

In a study, “[medical cannabis] eased pain, spasticity and improved sleep, among other symptoms and reduced the use of opioid analgesics in many patients with [multiples sclerosis].
The study concluded that “long-term CBD usage is beneficial for patients with [treatment resistant epilepsy] and may experience different types of convulsive or nonconvulsive seizures.”
