The House Rules Committee has cleared two amendments on psychedelics, and one measure on “drug interactions between marijuana and pharmaceuticals” to be voted this week.

At a Congressional Black Caucus meeting, President Joe Biden praised his cannabis clemency decision, saying, “God Almighty…nobody should be jailed merely for possession or use of marijuana.”

California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democratic lawmaker from California, says he is not sure what he will do about a bill on his desk that legalizes psychedelics. New polls show that the majority of likely California voters support the reform.

The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), which represents state legislators across the U.S. sent a message to Congress urging it to pass a bill on marijuana banking.

Black Pennsylvania legislators discussed the prospects for legalizing marijuana in Pennsylvania and the importance to ensure equity is at center stage of any legislation.

Portland’s Health and Human Services and Public Safety Committee has approved a resolution on decriminalizing psychedelics.

The Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation announced that retailers had sold legal marijuana products worth nearly $9.7million in August. This was the fourth consecutive month of record-breaking cannabis sales.

In the wake of an extensive recall, The Missouri Division of Cannabis Regulation released guidance to defend its marijuana product testing systems.

A law firm in Arkansas is being sued for allegedly creating local ownership groups so that they could obtain four of the first 32 licenses to operate medical cannabis dispensaries in the state.

Federal

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Democratic presidential candidate, reiterated his plans to legalize marijuana in order to use the revenues to fund drug rehab facilities.

The Congressional Research Service pointed out that the National Defense Authorization Act, passed by the House, included provisions on marijuana and psychedelics.

Sen. Kyrsten S. Sinema, (I-AZ), spoke on her role in crafting an agreement to advance the marijuana banking legislation.

Sen. Cynthia Lummis, R-WY, tweeted: “When the Obama administration wrongfully targeted banks who worked with firearms companies under Operation Choke Point we saw how dangerous big government can be if left unchecked.” The SAFER Banking Act protects our liberties because it prohibits backdoor attempts to undermine our 2nd Amendment right.

House Judiciary Committee Democrats tweet about the reintroduction a federal cannabis legalization bill.

The U.S. Court of Appeals Seventh Circuit ruled that a federal judge dismissed a lawsuit against Illinois regulators for their marijuana dispensary licensing process.

The woman who quit shortly after she was named Minnesota’s top cannabis regulator claimed that the press coverage on the issue had been “one-sided.”

Utah regulators have revised their medical cannabis regulations.

Maine regulators have published guidelines on the increased potency of marijuana products and on the co-location and location of recreational and medical cannabis cultivating facilities.

Ohio regulators have published updated numbers of medical cannabis patients and caregivers.

The New York Cannabis Advisory Board meets on Tuesday.

The Nevada Cannabis Advisory Committee’s Subcommittee on Federal Rescheduling/Descheduling will meet on Friday.
