NEPTUNE BEACH ( WFLA ) — It’s not seaweed. Over the weekend, a large amount of marijuana washed ashore on Neptune Beach.
Neptune Beach Police officers reported that the marijuana washed up on shore near Florida Boulevard, Saturday.
Officers stated that a large amount likely separated at sea before reaching the shore.
The police department warned against turning the discovery into a treasure hunt on Facebook.
After floating in the ocean, the police said that the marijuana began to degrade quickly and begin to rot.
Officers and public works members worked together to remove the marijuana from the beach.
